Why I Created Soulful Escapes

When I first started traveling internationally, I was 33 years old and working two jobs just to make ends meet. I was broke-broke. Not the kind of broke where you’re being frugal—no, I literally didn’t have the money. So when an opportunity to go on a cruise came up, I wanted to say yes, but I knew I couldn’t afford it.

The deposit was due in just a few days, and I didn’t have it. I told myself I’d catch the next one, that I needed more time to save. But then something unexpected happened—someone offered to pay my deposit. The only catch was that I’d be responsible for the balance. I said yes without hesitation and hustled my way through the rest of the payments.

That trip changed everything.

It was more than just my first international adventure—it was a turning point. Travel didn’t just show me new places; it showed me myself. It gave me space to breathe, to reflect, and to grow in ways I hadn’t even known I needed. It asked me the hard questions and gave me the quiet I needed to hear the answers.

Over time, travel became more than a vacation or escape—it became a path back to me. The me I was before life got heavy.

Before I tried to fit into every mold that was never mine to begin with. The version of me that laughed freely, dreamed without limits, and trusted her inner voice.

That’s why I created Soulful Escapes.

I didn’t just want to plan trips—I wanted to create experiences that offered the same kind of soul-level healing and clarity that travel gave me. I wanted to share that reawakening. I wanted to invite others to step outside of the noise and remember who they really are.

Soulful Escapes is about more than passports and plane tickets. It’s about transformation. It’s about giving yourself permission to pause, to reflect, to reconnect. Whether you’re just beginning your journey or you’ve already stamped a dozen passports, my hope is that through these curated escapes, you find a deeper connection to yourself and the world around you.

Because the truth is—travel has given me more than I could ever give back. But I’ll keep trying, one escape at a time.
